Metabolic Syndrome |
| Metabolic Syndrome is a prediabetic state, it is estimated that approximately 41 million people in the U.S. are prediabetic (Metabolic Syndrome). The NHANES III Federal survey revealed 18.2 million are diagnosed as diabetic, 5 million are undiagnosed. During the survey, the most alarming finding was the 15 fold increase in Type-2 DM in children and young adults in comparison to the prior NHANES survey. As of the year 2000, 2 million Latinos are diagnosed as diabetic, Latinos are twice as likely to have diabetes than the general population. Presently, there is limited detection to full diabetes mellitus. |
